Description
SUITABLE:
Geologists and/or technicians dealing with geological well-site control and/or drilling operations.
OBJECTIVES:
By the end of the course, delegates will:
- Understand the rock mechanical concepts applied to the well design;
- Broaden their knowledge on the drilling techniques;
- Be able to identify the needs of the drillers in geological information.
SUMMARY:
- Rock mechanics applied to drilling: the rock mechanic concepts, definition of the rock mechanical properties, etc
- Drilling engineering: well design, rig and drilling equipment, general sequence of drilling a well
- Directional drilling engineering: directional terms and definitions, trajectory computation, etc
- Drilling fluids: functions of drilling fluids, drilling fluid types, composition, etc
