Description
SUITABLE:
Petroleum engineers who need knowledge in fundamental and practical aspects of enhanced oil recovery. Basic reservoir engineering is a prerequisite.
OBJECTIVES:
By the end of the course, delegates will:
- Learn the fundamental of EOR techniques;
- Learn how to calculate injection requirements for a reservoir;
- Learn how to estimate the reservoir response;
- Learn how to design wells, surface installations and monitoring systems;
- Understand when and where is appropriate to use certain techniques, etc.
SUMMARY:
- Introduction and fundamental processes: What/why and how is EOR, screening criteria, viscous, capillary and gravity forces, geologic factors in EOR, etc
- Thermal recovery: Introduction to thermal EOR, heat transfer in reservoirs, steam generation and properties, etc.
- Miscible/Gas injection processes
- Chemical floods
