OBJECTIVES:
By the end of the course, delegates will:
- Understand the process involved in awarding and managing contracts
- Understand their own role and responsibilities within the contracts process
- Choose the type of contract and compensation terms best suited to the company
- Prepare tender evaluation criteria and evaluate a tender submission
- Identify and manage any risks associated with a contract and to ensure cost estimates are not exceeded.
SUMMARY:
This course is designed to make delegates aware of their roles and responsibilities within the company’s contract process and ensure that contracts are managed at minimum cost. The topics covered will include:
- The role of the Contract Manager
- Defining roles and responsibilities within the contract team
- Definition of a Contract / ProcessContracts parameters and strategies
- Principles of contract scheduling and control
- The role of the Tender Board, Shareholders and / or Co-Venturers
- Relationship / risk management
- Developing Tender criteria / evaluation
- Managing conflict using Transactional Analysis
